Round 1 - Saturday 6th December, 2025
Compete against your personal best, your mates and other teams in this one-of-a-kind multi-event running race series held at the Benaraby Dragway.
Whilst we test this event concept, participants will take home bragging rights only, as no merchandise is being budgeted for.
Location
The Benaraby Dragway, located next to the Bruce Highway, 25 Minutes south of Gladstone, is home to the Dragway Sprint Series.
Take the turn in onto Jono Porter Dr and follow the signs. The Benaraby Dragway is the home of the Central Queensland Drag Racing Association and we thank them for allowing us to utilise their venue.
Events
Participants can register for multiple events.
The 1 Mile Individual
The flagship event of the evening. Nominate your 5k PB category upon registering to be pitted against your peers in the 1 Mile Individual. Comprising of a down and back of the Dragway.
The 1 Mile Team of 2
Grab a mate and nominate your 5k PB category upon registering to be pitted against your peers in the 1 Mile Team of 2. Complete 1/2 mile each.
The 1 Mile Team of 4
Grab 3 mates and nominate your 5k PB category upon registering to be pitted against your peers in the 1 Mile Team of 4. Complete 1/4 mile each.
The 1 Mile Pram Push
Grab a pram and a kid (we suggest to substitute the kid for a 15kg weight) and nominate your 5k PB category upon registering to be pitted against your peers in the 1 Mile Pram Push. Comprising of a down and back of the Dragway.
The 1/2 Mile Dial In
Taking inspiration from a Dragway event, nominate your time over the 1/2 Mile and closest to their time takes the win. No watches allowed to be worn on this event.
The 1/4 Mile Cut
Picture the Beep Test from school and take this over 1/4 mile. Timing will start out casual, but as the 1/4 mile takes it toll and the beeps get closer, who will make the cut.
Registrations close 5pm November 16th, 2025
Minimum Age:
All participants must be 12 or older. Anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
*Prior to registering for any of the Dragway Sprint Series events, please read all of the information on this page and linked documents. Depending on the number of registrations per event, heats leading to finals will be run. We are relying on participants to fairly nominate their 5k PB categories.

General Information
- No glass, BYO alcohol or animals are allowed on the facility. The licenced bar and canteen will be operating. Please support the CQDRA volunteers by purchasing your drinks and food from them.
- No bikes or scooters are allowed on the Dragway at any time. This is for the safety of all competitors.
- Please respect the Dragway facilities and notify event staff of any issues. All rubbish must go in provided bins.
- If you need to withdraw from the event at any point after signing on, please ensure you let the Milepost Events race director know prior to leaving the area so that we aren't waiting for you to turn up to an event.
- As much as we love a good bit of competition, please look out for each other. There are no running lanes painted on the Dragway, so we rely on participants to be aware of their surroundings.
- Under whatever circumstances, the race director has final say on any competitors ability to continue due to health or injury concerns or regarding changes to the event in the case of issues on the trail. Please cooperate with our team, volunteers and contracted personnel.
- All events held by Milepost Events are showcasing our team and the running community to the public. We want everyone involved or affected by these events to allow us to continue for many years to come. All it takes is a smile, a G'day or a wave.
Risks
Running events come with their own set of risks, and the Dragway Sprint Series is no different. Milepost Events have developed a risk assessment providing steps to mitigate the impact of hazards; however, there are many things we cannot control. Whilst any excessive risk would require us to cancel or postpone the event, minor instances where Milepost Events consider the event safe to continue, leaves isolated incidents of personal safety up to competitors. The below Indemnity Form is required to be understood and acknowledged by all competitors as part of the event registration process. If you are injured at the event, require medical attention or are unable to return to the event precinct, please make this known to a volunteer or another competitor who in-turn can alert our trained first aiders.
